- Non Processed Carbs – When it’s all too easy to slip into that routine of pasta on repeat, make these simple switches to natural, complex carbohydrates instead – they’ll help keep you on track. Not only are they healthy and a great source of energy and fibre, sweet potatoes, brown rice, quinoa, lentils, oats, fuelling yourself with the right carbohydrates is great for your gut, your heart – and your health.
- Fresh fruit and veg – It goes without saying that fresh fruits and vegetables are packed with nutrients. Load up on superfoods like spinach and cruciferous (dark leafy greens) veg, swap a biscuit for a handful of blueberries and watch those airmiles (local is best!)
- Good fats – Great as flavour-carriers, great for adding crunch and variety to your plate – look to seeds and nuts, egg yolks, avocados, peanut butter, olives, olive oil and coconut oil to make meals more interesting.
- Herbs & Spices – Finally, don’t forget to pack in flavour with herbs and spices! With low to no calories, garlic, sumac, smoked paprika, onion seeds – there’s a whole world of flavour in your spice rack to help you turn a dull salad into a mind bendingly brilliant one.
