Since launching, we’re proud to have been appointed the official nutrition partner of the English Institute of Sport and won the support of British sporting heroes Sir Andy Murray and Victoria Pendleton CBE, who all share our vision.
This week we’re excited to take our mission one step further and launch a new partnership with The British Heart Foundation (BHF). A charity
responsible for funding life-saving research into heart and circulatory diseases.
Mindful Chef and the BHF have a united goal to raise awareness of how a healthy, balanced diet can help support heart and circulatory health. We are thrilled to be able to partner with one of the UK’s largest charities and help support those who need it most.
Heart-healthy recipes
What better time to kick off our new partnership with the BHF than World Heart Day this September 29th? A global campaign aiming to drive action and educate people about what they can do to take charge of their heart health.
This week, to mark the launch of our partnership with the BHF, we’re introducing a new range of healthy recipes approved by British Heart Foundation dieticians, that will help to support your heart and circulatory health.
Look out for the BHF logo on recipes like this week’s delicious Cod with sunflower seed, mint & basil pesto and Jackfruit & seaweed cakes with dill dip.

I’ve committed to a lifestyle change which is not only sustainable but thoroughly enjoyable!
As an insulin dependant diabetic for many years, I take my health and diet very seriously. I started ordering 3 meals a week from Mindful Chef in February as I was looking to lower my cholesterol levels and had read a lot about a plant-based diet supporting this. Alongside Mindful Chef, I ate healthy meals inspired by the recipes and following the same principles (with no white carbs!), as well as drinking less alcohol and continuing my already active lifestyle. By August my cholesterol was 14% lower at 5.6! My Hb1ac (average long term blood sugar over 3 months) dropped from 52 to 48 which was amazing. However, I’ve also lost over a stone and a half as a side effect! I feel great, my energy levels are up andI’ve committed to a lifestyle change which is not only sustainable but thoroughly enjoyable! – Kitty
Mindful Chef has completely changed the way I eat and approach food.
I’ve been with MC for around 18 months now and as a Coeliac, it’s perfect for me. I was intrigued by the low food waste and wanted to eat more veggie foods but didn’t know where to start. The headache of planning the week’s food is gone and I’m trying foods I’ve never eaten before like jackfruit, tempeh and miso! During lockdown, MC was invaluable to me and I increased my meals to 4 days a week. I’ve also lost 7lbs from using MyFitnessPal, regular exercising (via Zoom, by dusty bicycle or golf) and MC meals. I had my regular cholesterol test the other day and for the first time in a long time, the result was normal. My body fat is lower and my BMI now in the normal range. Mindful Chef has completely changed the way I eat and approach food. The kitchen used to bore me. I saw cooking as a chore. Now I see it as a way to express my creativity, to tweak recipes and try new things. Mindful Chef has given me a whole new world. – Olga
What started as a ‘necessity’ has become a way of life.
We found Mindful Chef in lockdown, as I’ve been shielding due to having a congenital heart defect and we were struggling to order regular supermarket deliveries. The first couple of weeks were tricky with the reduced calories but the quality of the food and the balance of flavours, textures and freshness won us over. We’ve also been enjoying the frozen meals for lunches and I have a breakfast smoothie every weekday with some 0% yoghurt. What started as a ‘necessity’ has become a way of life. I was always fairly active but it’s kickstarted me into jogging and cycling again – to this point I have lost nearly 3 and a half stone and feel as good as I ever have, and I honestly don’t think my mindset would have changed so much if it had not been for Mindful Chef – thank you! – Chris
The whole process is flawless, I have been able to portion control and ‘eat a rainbow’!
I’m severely disabled from 2012 and had to retire from my job as a headteacher in 2014, a profession I loved. It left a huge hole in my life. Retirement, before you’re fifty, is a shock to the system and one I am still coming to terms with. My medication is complex and at least one drug has caused significant weight gain. Cooking for one, became expensive and despite selective use of my freezer, I found I was wasting ingredients. Along came the COVID pandemic, and as I am vulnerable I shielded throughout lockdown and have remained to do so. Enter Mindful Chef. The whole process is flawless, I have been able to portion control and ‘eat a rainbow’! Mindful Chef has now become part of my life and I thank and applaud the company for their approach, their attention to detail, their principles and their charity work – Barry
