We are mindful that fresh food delivery naturally creates waste as a by-product, so we are always working hard to improve our packaging and make it more environmentally friendly.

What is the packaging made of?

The insulation that keeps your perishable food cold and fresh is made from state-of-the-art recycled off-cuts from the cotton industry. Within this you will find our eco friendly ice packs, made from a non toxic polymer gel. Together they keep the contents chilled for up to 48 hours, meaning you do not need to be in for delivery – and our drivers will leave your box in a safe place!

Both the insulation and ice packs are 100% reusable and can be returned to us (see below!) Our Mindful Chef pots, craft bags and boxes are all 100% recyclable.

How can you help Mindful Chef recycle?

If you have your box delivered on a Sunday (within the M25 only), our drivers will collect your packaging when they deliver your next box. You MUST flat pack your boxes and leave them out with your insulation and ice packs only. Please put other packaging into your household recycling.

By all means don't let that stop your creativity. We've seen customers upcycle our packaging in many wonderful ways, from protecting plants from frost in winter, to cushion stuffing, cat bedding and one customer who's turned her insulation into wall art!

The opportunities are endless, share your stories with us on social using #mindfulchef.

Our aim...

We are working hard to reduce the amount of single use plastic in our boxes and are looking into alternative packaging solutions. Our aim is to be plastic-free by 2019.
