Cooking Instructions

The protein cooking time listed in this recipe has been updated.

As of December 2025, we’ve revised cooking times for all our proteins to reflect improved food safety guidance.

Check out the latest recommended times in our Cooking Guidelines.

Before you start

  • Bring a large saucepan filled with salted water to a boil
  • Pull out a sieve, a small bowl, a measuring jug, a grater & a large frying pan

Time to noodle

  • Add the noodles to the saucepan, gently separate with a fork and boil for 3-4 mins until cooked
  • Drain, then rinse under cold water

Prep the veg & dressing

  • Trim the broccoli and cut into thirds. Coarsely grate the carrots. Trim and cut the pak choi into bite-sized pieces
  • Add the honey, ginger & garlic paste, chilli paste, tamari, 100ml water and pinch of five-spice (to taste) to the small bowl

Get sizzlin'

  • Heat the large frying pan with 2 tbsp oil on high heat. Once hot, add the broccoli and carrot and cook for 5-6 mins, until soft
  • Add the prawns and cook for 2-3 mins, until pink. Add the dressing and simmer for 6-7 mins, until the prawns are cooked through and the sauce has thickened

Last bits & plate up

  • Add the pak choi to the pan. Cook for 1-2 mins, until wilted. Stir in the cooked noodles
  • Check your prawns are cooked through; they should be opaque, firm and steaming hot
  • Serve the prawn noodles into bowls
