Hoisin Turkey Stir-fry with Brown Rice & Broccoli

High-protein British turkey, drizzled in sweet hoisin sauce – does it get any better? Serve it alongside sweet peppers, crunchy mangetout and nutty broccoli. Brown rice soaks up all the flavour. Finish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and dig in!

Before you start

  • Bring a large saucepan filled with salted water to a boil
  • Pull out a large frying pan, a large bowl, a sieve & a measuring jug

Boil & prep

  • Add the rice to the saucepan and boil for 25-30 mins. In the final 2 mins of cooking, add the mangetout, then drain together
  • Meanwhile, cut the broccoli into small florets. Thinly slice the pepper

Sizzle time

  • In the large bowl, toss the turkey with the cornflour and a pinch of five-spice
  • Heat the large frying pan with 1 tbsp oil on medium-high heat. Once hot, add the turkey and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 10 mins, until beginning to brown

Build the dish

  • Add the broccoli and pepper to the frying pan. Cook for 5 mins, until beginning to soften
  • Stir in the ginger & garlic paste, hoisin, tamari, honey and 100ml water. Bring to a boil, then simmer for a further 5 mins, until the turkey is cooked through and the sauce has thickened slightly

Plate up

  • Check your turkey is cooked through by cutting a large piece in half; the flesh should be white and the juices running clear. Season to taste
  • Serve the turkey stir-fry into bowls, with the mangetout rice alongside. Sprinkle over the sesame seeds
