Our Reverse Advent Calendar is back – and this year we’ve teamed up with the Felix Project to distribute your donations! Read on to see how you can make a difference by getting involved.
What is The Felix Project?
The Felix Project makes sure that quality surplus food makes it to those who need it most – whether that’s low-income families, the elderly, the homeless, refugees or victims of abuse. As London’s largest food distribution charity, The Felix Project aims to deliver enough food for at least 2 million meals this Christmas.
Why their work matters
More people are going hungry than ever before – many of them children –with an estimated deficit of 127 million meals a year in London alone. There is more than enough food to go around, but every year in the UK we waste approximately 7 million tonnes of it. The Felix Project ensures that in-date, nutritious food goes to those in desperate need, rather than into the bin.
