Sundays shared: meet the limited-edition Seasonal Roast Box

By Jess Herbert

Name a greater pleasure than a roast dinner, shared around the Sunday table. The family ritual has been around since the 1700s and for good reason: an economical way to roast large joints of meat, eat seasonally and fill up for the week ahead.

Admittedly, nowadays the roasts we enjoy look rather different with pigs in blankets, red wine jus and even a plant-based option on the cards. But the sentiment of a meal enjoyed together remains.

When we were considering who to create our perfect roast box with, a partnership with Green Michelin star Pythouse Kitchen Garden just made sense. Sustainability and seasonality are at the core of what we both do and now we get to bring these to your kitchen.

Reserve your new Seasonal Roast Box today. Available for delivery on Fridays, this October only.

Who are Pythouse Kitchen Garden?

Tucked behind enchanting 18th-century walls in the Wiltshire countryside lies Green Michelin Star, Pythouse Kitchen Garden. Here the philosophy is simple: feasting should be thoughtful, delicious and guided by the seasons. They grow what they can, source thoughtfully when they can’t and let the seasons guide everything they do.

The garden dictates what arrives on the plate, led by what’s in season. There’s a symbiosis between the gardeners and the chefs so their menus change daily in response to the harvest. Provenance is not just a concept but a daily reality as the kitchen uses ingredients travelling just a few metres from the garden.

Led by Chef Darren Broom, cooking is centred around fire, flavour and sustainability. Much of the food is prepared over sustainable charcoal, which brings depth and character to every dish.

The table is where it all comes together. Their restaurant reflects a shared belief: that great hospitality begins with great ingredients, grown and crafted with care and enjoyed around a welcoming table. They can tell you how and where your lunch was grown and when it was harvested.

What can I expect in my Seasonal Roast Box?

When ordering your Seasonal Roast Box there’s a choice of three centrepieces: Grass-fed Aberdeen Angus Beef Sirloin, Whole Norfolk Black Chicken or a Tenderstem, Artichoke & Cheddar Gratin. Each is served alongside the finest trimmings the season has to offer, inspired by the changing harvest. Discover delicate orange, purple and white skin-on carrots, roasted cavolo nero, sweet candied beetroot, a vibrant kale salad and golden potatoes. Plus, plenty of gravy for drizzling.
