Are Beyond Burgers healthy?

By Ish

Beyond Burgers are a plant-based meat substitute, designed to look, taste, and cook like real meat. Yes, even the ‘blood’. While Beyond Burgers are generally considered to be a healthier option compared to traditional meat versions, they still contain a significant amount of saturated fat and sodium.

According to the Beyond Burger website, a single burger contains 20 grams of protein and 18 grams of fat, including 6 grams of saturated fat. It also contains 390 milligrams of sodium, which is 17% of the recommended daily intake.

While plant-based diets have been shown to have numerous health benefits, it's important to remember that processed foods like Beyond Burgers should be consumed in moderation as part of a balanced diet. (It's also a good idea to check the ingredients and nutritional information before making a decision about whether or not to include them in your diet.)

The good news is that Mindful Chef has loads of healthy burgers you can sink your teeth into right here.

For vegans and the vegan-curious, our Jackfruit burger even swaps the traditional bun for a pillowy portobello mushroom one - as do these beef versions. Try the Smoky Pork burger with Mexican flavours, or our mindful take on a Lentil Burger you’ll be serving up with crispy carrot fries and a nutty tahini drizzle.
