What do we love when it comes to Street Food? It’s quick, easy, but most importantly delicious. That’s why we’ve brought our Street Food menu back this summer with some of your favourites plus a whole load of new recipes to get stuck into. We’ll be bringing our favourite flavours from around the world so you can enjoy a Street Food Fiesta from the comfort of your own kitchen.
We’re so excited for the return of our Street Food range (it has been bubbling like a noodle soup rustled up on the bustling streets of Indonesia). But first, we’re going to dig into exactly what Street Food is all about and what inspired our very own Mindful Chef Street Food menu.
“I think street food is a fantastic way to encourage people to learn about other cultures. If you try food for the first time and love it, you are much more likely to want to learn about where it came from and about the people who make it. Food is such an important part of what makes a community and encourages people to share stories and experiences. Everything about street food is hard to resist. It always smells and looks so great, it definitely makes me want to tuck in! We have done our very best to keep this excitement at the core of our recipes.” – Chef Jesse
What is Street Food?
Whether it’s for breakfast, lunch or dinner, Street Food is typically made in front of you in an outside space such as a market. The ingredients that go into Street Food are usually very fresh and local, which means the quality of Street Food can be excellent. Plus its availability and the speed and ease at which it can be made makes it that much more enjoyable, especially in the hustle and bustle of city life. It really is no wonder why Street Food’s popularity is soaring globally.
What is the most popular type of Street Food?
From Vietnamese baguette-style sandwiches known as a bánh mì, to Mexican tacos or samosas stuffed with goodness, there’s so much choice when it comes to Street Food it’s almost impossible to settle on one.
With all that in mind, our mouth-watering Street Food menu will definitely have something that takes your fancy. We’ve brought back some tasty classics, such as our Chilli Con Carne Loaded Fries, Dan Dan Noodles with Sunflower Mince, and Japanese Style Karaage Chicken to name a few! We’ve also introduced a whole load of new Street Food inspired recipes with our very own Mindful Chef twist.
Is Street Food unhealthy?
Although Street Food can be nutritious, it’s generally considered unhealthy due to its “junk food-style” nature. Often being high in saturated fats and cooked with excessive oil for quick preparation, Street Food can sadly slip into the “unhealthy” category.
That’s where we step in. We’ve taken the tastiest Street Food trends and turned them into the less-dirty-more-healthy versions you deserve. Inspired by delicious flavours from around the world so you can enjoy Street Food that’s clean, healthy and fun.
What was the Inspiration behind our Street Food range?
“Street food has gained immense popularity in recent years, and for good reason. It provides an exciting opportunity to experience unique flavours and culinary styles from around the world. Street food is often affordable, quick, and convenient, making it an excellent choice for busy people who still want to enjoy delicious food.
This year, we have taken inspiration from the vibrant street food markets of London to create bold and exciting flavours that are sure to delight the senses. We have worked hard to ensure that our recipes are both creative and simple, so that customers can easily replicate them at home.” – Chef Charlie

Fish Pakora with Fries & Tomato Salsa

They’re made with sustainably sourced hake, and coated in our special Sri Lankan spice mix to make the perfect parcels of fried fish deliciousness. Serve these crispy fritters with spiced skin-on fries and a fresh tomato salsa.
Jackfruit Loaded Fries with ‘Cheesy’ Sauce
Jackfruit Loaded Fries with ‘Cheesy’ Sauce
Although we don’t know the exact origins of this Street Food favourite, it became popular in the United States (and for good reason). Our Sri Lankan pulled jackfruit is spiced perfectly with cajun seasoning and layered over a bed of crispy carrot and potato fries for a boost of vitamin A. It’s completed with a cashew-based “cheesy” sauce and a zingy sweetcorn salsa. It’s loaded fries with a healthy Mindful Chef twist.
