Exciting update from Mindful Chef: 1 million meals donated through One Feeds Two

March 3, 2019

In September 2017, Mindful Chef decided on an ambitious goal: to donate 1 million meals to children living in poverty. We’re the only recipe box with this model, and as of this week, we’re incredibly excited to have reached our target. We’ve donated one million meals and counting thanks to our generous community of customers and the groundbreaking charity One Feeds Two.

Every time you purchase a Mindful Chef recipe box, we donate a school meal to a child in education in Malawi, a country of incredible natural beauty where many people still live off the land. School meals help Malawian families in rural areas keep their children in education. To put the achievement in context, your donation has put 5,266 kids through school for a year.

One such child is the 11-year-old Gift, whose parents are smallholders. Knowing that Gift will receive two square meals a day takes pressure off of the family when money’s tight. And it means that Gift can aspire to one day being a doctor. He loves his studies but, as a typical kid, school is also about having fun and playing football with his best friend.

As a certified B-corp, Mindful Chef believes that business can be a powerful tool for good. We tackle hunger here in the UK as well as abroad, and it’s all thanks to you, our community of customers. And with your help, 1 million meals is just the beginning.

How’s that for some feel-good food?
