We’ll say it loud and proud: our Mindful Chef smoothies are healthy and delicious. Obviously we can’t say the same for everyone else’s smoothies out there, because to keep ours healthy we only put the best fruit, veg and good grains in. And it really matters what you blend ‘em with. Some smoothies can be high in sugar and calories, which will impact any weight loss routine, so you need to stay extra vigilant with labels and things.
When prepared with whole, nutrient-dense ingredients like fruits, vegetables, and protein sources like nut butters or Greek yoghurt (we use pea protein in our special protein shakes) smoothies are an easy one-stop-slurp to enjoy a variety of vitamins, minerals, and other beneficial nutrients. If you’re not great on varying your veg, smoothies can also be a good way to increase your intake of fruits and vegetables too.
Let’s take a moment to look at some hidden ingredients that you might assume are healthy: check for added sugars from sweetened yoghurts or fruit juices for example, and check portion sizes too. Nut butters are great for example, but they will hinder not help if you have too much of them.
To keep your smoothies healthy, make sure you’re happy with what you’re blending them with. From nut milks and dairy milk to coconut water, and more – remember everything adds up to your calorie count.
Our nutritious smoothies come in all shapes and flavours, too. Some are more treat-worthy than others like our Cafe Classics range, where we’ve taken those coffee shop faves and given them a mindful twist. Breakfast Boost Smoothies do exactly what they say: set you up for the day, while our Protein Shakes range go big on protein to keep you fueled post or pre gym, and don’t miss our Health Kick Smoothies which focus on skin, immunity, gut health, and more.
