We managed to donate 25,000 food items in 2018 and this year we want to go even bigger and better.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>It does exactly what it says on the tin; rather than taking something out every day, we are encouraging people to donate something instead. Shockingly, even at Christmas, millions of people are just scraping by \u2014 without enough food for them or their family.<\/p>\n<p>As a certified <a href=\"https:\/\/app.mindfulchef.com\/b-corp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"false noopener noreferrer\">B Corp<\/a>, we aim to use business as a force for good, putting people and the planet first.&nbsp; And given&nbsp;food is at the very heart of everything we do here at Mindful Chef, we set up the #ReverseAdventCalendar initiative, to allow our community to come together and make a difference.<\/p>\n<h3>How does it work&#8230;<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>From November 24th, every box we deliver (both fresh <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mindfulchef.com\/\">recipe boxes<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/shop.mindfulchef.com\/collections\/frozen-meals\">frozen ready meal<\/a> orders), will contain a cardboard divider, purple sticker and special Collect+ returns label.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2120 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.mindfulchef.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Screenshot-2019-11-21-at-12.17.53.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"869\" height=\"959\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mindfulchef.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Screenshot-2019-11-21-at-12.17.53.png 869w, https:\/\/www.mindfulchef.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Screenshot-2019-11-21-at-12.17.53-272x300.png 272w, https:\/\/www.mindfulchef.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Screenshot-2019-11-21-at-12.17.53-768x848.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 869px) 100vw, 869px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Let us know you&#8217;re taking part by emailing <strong>&#8220;I&#8217;m in&#8221;<\/strong> to <strong>meltem@mindfulchef.com<\/strong> &#8211; we&#8217;ll then send you images that you can share on social to help spread the word.<\/p>\n<h3>Items that can be accepted:<\/h3>\n<p>\u2713 Any non-perishable items e.g. beans, soups, rice, pasta sauce, tea bags etc.<\/p>\n<h3>Please don&#8217;t include:<\/h3>\n<p>\u2718 Fresh food<\/p>\n<p>\u2718 Items that are out of date<\/p>\n<p>\u2718 Other non-food products e.g. gifts, alcohol, toys, cosmetics, sanitary items.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please note whilst the weight limit&nbsp;is generous, your box <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">cannot weigh more than 10kg<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Our Goal is to reach 5,000 boxes<\/h3>\n<p>Last year we received approximately 1,000 boxes- that\u2019s a whopping 25,000 food items. This year we&#8217;re aiming for 5,000 returned boxes (or more!) which would allow the Mindful Chef Community to donate 100,000 items of food this Christmas!<\/p>\n<h3>Where does it go?<\/h3>\n<p>We&#8217;ve teamed up with <a href=\"https:\/\/fareshare.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"false noopener noreferrer\">FareShare<\/a> the UK&#8217;s longest running food redistribution charity, born out of the belief that no good food should go to waste, especially when people are going hungry. Your #ReverseAdventCalendar donations will be redistributed to frontline charities and community groups including children\u2019s clubs, homeless hostels and refuges in over 1,900 cities!<\/p>\n<h3>Help us spread the word&#8230;<\/h3>\n<p>We would love to encourage as many people as possible to get involved, so please do share your progress photos with us on&nbsp;social media by tagging in <strong>@mindfulchefuk<\/strong> and using <strong>#ReverseAdventCalendar #mindfulchef<\/strong>.
