This speedy summer recipe took just 21 minutes vs 34 minutes for the shop-bought version. The reason being, with a Mindful Chef recipe box, not only do you cut out shopping time but prep is also faster, as all the ingredients are pre-measured.<\/p>\n<h3>Food Waste<\/h3>\n<p>Each year <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/environment\/ng-interactive\/2015\/aug\/12\/produced-but-never-eaten-a-visual-guide-to-food-waste\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"false noopener noreferrer\">15 million tonnes<\/a> of food is wasted in the UK alone, 4.2 tonnes of which is edible! We are tackling this problem head on by sending out pre-measured ingredients, leaving you with zero food waste when you cook with Mindful Chef.<\/p>\n<p>In the particular comparison, the supermarket equivalent lead to 1.4kg of leftovers &#8211; this was a mix of perishables and cupboard items, like herbs and spices, many of which we are guilty of not touching again.<\/p>\n<h3>Cost<\/h3>\n<p>Our rump steak with roasted peppers and artichokes costs \u00a317 for two people, when purchasing like for like ingredients in the supermarket our food bill came to \u00a327.75. That doesn&#8217;t even account for &#8216;extras&#8217; that end up in our shopping trolley.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst some of the additional produce may be used in other meals, the <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.mindfulchef.com\/4-easy-tips-to-reduce-your-food-waste\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"false noopener noreferrer\">average family still throws out \u00a3700<\/a> of food every year, proving waste is likely from a supermarket shop.<\/p>\n<h3>One Feeds Two<\/h3>\n<p>For every Mindful meal sold, we donate a school meal to a child living in poverty through our partner charity <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.mindfulchef.com\/one-feeds-two-our-mindful-approach-to-business\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"false noopener noreferrer\">One Feeds Two<\/a>.
